More then a month after I left New Orleans, I'm finally getting to the part where I actually left New Orleans. And the eventful, nerve-wrecking hours that led up to it.

Wlep... it's been a while since I did a New Orleans Trip Log. Each of those posts take a while, and when you are trying to find time while juggling work commitments, taxes and good old human fatigue... On March 19, I left Chicago for the city of New Orleans on the train called the City of New Orleans. I arrived in the city a day later, where I met up with phoenix_anew and jaklocke, who showed me around the suburb where they lived and introduced me to some new Orleans food. Previously, on the New Orleans Trip Log, I took the train called the City of New Orleans to New Orleans and I got my first look at the city and its suburbs. And on Saturday, March 21, phoenix_anew was going to show me to the one big New Orleans tourist attraction everybody knows - the French Quarter.

At least, that was the original plan.
